Boil Water Notice in Effect

August 26, 2017

Due to conditions caused by the destruction of Hurricane Harvey, a precautionary boil water notice is being issued by the San Patricio Municipal Water District for customers throughout the District's service area. This notice is necessary due to reduced water pressure.

This notice covers the municipal water systems in Odem, Taft, Portland, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Rockport, Ingleside on the Bay, Port Aransas, the Rincon Water Supply Corp. and the Seaboard WSC.

The public should boil water prior to consumption (washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.).

The District will lift the advisory as soon as possible.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.  Children, seniors and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.  Bottled water is an alternative for consumption.
