The first priority of the San Patricio Municipal Water District is to provide customers with quality, safe drinking water.

The COVID-19 virus has not been detected in drinking water supplies including water provided by the Water District to communities in San Patricio, Aransas and Nueces Counties.

The Water District employs high standard treatment and disinfectant processes that prevent waterborne pathogens such as viruses from contaminating drinking water. The Coronavirus is a type of virus that is particularly susceptible to disinfection and standard water treatment methods.

Water District customers should continue to use water from their tap as usual.

The Environmental Protection Agency has published a notice stating that the virus risk to water supplies is low. You can see the notice at the EPA Website.
