Leonard Reiley Retires After 35 Years
May 7, 2013

The Water District Board of Director in May congratulated Leonard Reiley on his retirement after 35 years as part of the district’s water treatment team.

Fittingly that came after a staff golf outing in honor of Reiley who spends much of his free time on the golf course.

Reiley was the senior plant operator before his retirement, a job with responsibility for keeping things humming at the District’s water treatment plant near Ingleside to continuously deliver clean water that tastes good and is safe to drink.

In his capacity as senior operator Riley was is one of those people who do the vital work that keeps our daily lives and routines on track.  This is the kind of quiet unseen work that most of people take for granted but everyone depends on.

Reiley was instrumental in training all of the district’s certified operators and many of their predecessors over the years.

A resident of Taft since 1970, Leonard grew up in Karnes County and worked as a barber before becoming a water plant operator.
