Beasley Avenue Project Complete
September 14, 2010

A new 24-inch water transmission main designed to improve water delivery capacity in Aransas Pass and on Mustang Island is now in service. The line was installed in the right-of-way of Beasley Avenue at the southern edge of Aransas Pass.

Beasley Avenue was reconstructed and repaved once the pipeline was tested and in operation.

The project also included relocation of the District's two large water delivery meters that had been located for many years in the right-of-way of State Highway 361 at the Beasley intersection.

The meter for the Nueces County Water Control & Improvement District #4 was moved to their pump station located a half a mile to the east on Beasley. NCWC&ID #4 provides water to Port Aransas most of Mustang Island. It has been a customer of the San Patricio Municipal Water District since 1960.

The meter for Aransas Pass was moved to the city's pump station. The Water District began supplying drinking water to Aransas Pass in 1959.
